Benefits of Natural Rubber

As a manufacturer of natural rubber hoses, the greatest benefit of this material are its environmental properties. NR is fully biodegradable and currently accounts for almost 40% of the world’s elastomer consumption. It is frequently blended with other rubbers to derive an ideal combination of properties.

It has excellent water resistance and air resistance properties. It also has good alcohol and dilute-acid and bases properties. It has good oxidation resistance. Although NR can be used with water and dilute acids, alkalis and chemicals, EPDM is normally preferred for most aqueous applications.

Natural rubber features low compression set, high tensile strength, resilience, abrasion and tear resistance, good friction characteristics, excellent bonding capabilities to metal substrate, and good vibration dampening characteristics. It has poor resistance to attack by petroleum oils. It also has poor ozone and UV resistance.

NR is ideal for applications that require good resistance to abrasion, gouging and cut growth. It is easily bonded to metal and fabrics.

Least expensive of the oil resistant elastomers.
Excellent resistance to petroleum products
Provides excellent compression set, tear, and abrasion resistance
An established material for use in fuel or oil applications
Can also be hydrogenated to increase its temperature range
