Rail Industry Technology Roadshow – that’s a wrap for 2026
Goodflex Rubber has completed the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow 2026, following two weeks on-site across key UK rail manufacturing locations.
Running from 9th–20th March 2026, the roadshow visited major facilities including Hitachi Rail, Alstom, Siemens Mobility and Knorr-Bremse Rail UK&I. The format brings suppliers directly into operational environments, enabling more practical and application-led discussions than a traditional exhibition setting.

Rather than high-level conversations, engagement is shaped by real engineering constraints. Discussions are grounded in installation space, hose routing, accessibility for maintenance and long-term performance requirements within rolling stock systems.
Throughout the roadshow, the Goodflex team supported a range of applications typically delivered through our bespoke hose manufacturing and engineered elastomer solutions:
• Coolant and Thermal management
• Powerpack and Turbo
• Waste and Drainage
• HVAC and ventilation (A/C)
• Traction and Powertrain
First-hand insight into real operating conditions
Material selection remained a consistent focus across all sites. Engineers are increasingly balancing performance requirements with durability and manufacturability. Common considerations included EPDM for water and external exposure, HNBR for higher temperature and mechanical performance, and FKM for resistance to fuels, oils and aggressive media.
A key advantage of the roadshow is the ability to review applications in context. Being on-site provides direct visibility of how hose systems are installed and operated, including exposure to vibration, temperature cycling and confined routing paths. This supports more accurate technical input and improves efficiency from initial concept through to production.
Engagement across the two weeks was consistent, with strong interaction from engineering, procurement and project teams. Conversations were practical, with clear opportunities identified for both new developments and ongoing supply requirements.
Goodflex Rubber would like to thank the organisers Rail Forum, Dream Marketing and everyone who took the time to meet with the team.
