Goodflex Rubber become RISQS Registered
Goodflex Rubber become RISQS Registered, strengthening our rail offering and capability.
Being RISQS certified means Goodflex Rubber Company have successfully passed the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme’s rigorous assessment process. This confirms that our business meets the UK rail industry’s strict requirements for safety, quality, governance, and compliance, and positions us as a trusted and approved supplier within the rail supply chain.
RISQS certification is overseen by the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) and provides a consistent, industry-recognised standard across the Great British Rail Industry. For customers such as Network Rail, Transport for London, and tier-one contractors, RISQS offers assurance that suppliers have been pre-vetted and assessed against clearly defined criteria.
What RISQS certification means for our rail customers
From a customer perspective, RISQS reduces risk and removes the need for repeated individual audits. It demonstrates that Goodflex operates with robust health and safety systems, proven operational capability, strong financial governance, and effective environmental and quality management controls.
For Goodflex and Harltex, RISQS certification supports access to rail frameworks and approved supplier lists, unlocking opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. It also provides a clear competitive advantage, setting us apart from non-certified manufacturers by demonstrating operational excellence and long-term commitment to industry best practice.
In practical terms, RISQS certification is a recognised “ticket to entry” for supplying into the UK rail sector. It confirms that our business is structured, governed, and resourced to operate safely and effectively within one of the country’s most highly regulated industries.
Rail-ready manufacturing capability and investment
RISQS registration sits alongside continued investment in manufacturing capability, systems, and infrastructure across the Goodflex Group. It supports how we plan, operate, and scale responsibly within the rail industry and other regulated sectors.
Mark Dufty, Goodflex Rubber Managing Director, states:
“Becoming RISQS registered is a natural step for Goodflex Rubber as we continue to strengthen our presence in the rail industry alongside other regulated sectors. It demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of quality and compliance, which aligns perfectly with our planned capital investment, the implementation of our new ERP system, and our state-of-the-art production facility. Combined with our in-house testing capability, RISQS registration ensures we can consistently deliver reliable, traceable, and industry-compliant solutions to our customers.”

Governance and financial stability at the core
From a governance and financial perspective, RISQS registration validates that Goodflex operates with strong internal controls, clear accountability, and effective risk management. The assessment process requires evidence of financial stability, appropriate insurance cover, ethical trading practices, and well-defined management systems.
Hannah Dufty, Goodflex Group Finance Controller, adds:
“Securing RISQS registration is a clear recognition of the high standards Goodflex operates to. It demonstrates that our processes, governance framework, financial standing, and management controls align with the rigorous requirements of the UK rail industry. This achievement reflects our continued investment in people, systems, and infrastructure, and strengthens our ability to support rail customers with confidence.”

Rather than introducing new behaviours, RISQS provided a structured framework to formally evidence good practice already embedded within the business. It reinforced collaboration between finance, quality, operations, and leadership to support compliant and sustainable growth in the rail sector.
Strengthening systems and ways of working
One of the most valuable outcomes of the RISQS process was the opportunity to review and refine internal systems. Documentation became more structured, traceability clearer, and responsibilities more consistently defined across departments.
For a manufacturing group supplying engineered rubber hoses, assemblies, mouldings, and extrusions, this level of clarity directly supports repeatability, reliability, and quality assurance. It also ensures that as volumes increase or customer requirements evolve, systems remain scalable and resilient.
While the process was thorough, it ultimately strengthened the business not only for rail customers, but across all regulated and safety-critical industries we support.
Is RISQS registration worth it?
For manufacturers targeting the rail sector, RISQS registration is no longer optional. While it requires commitment, preparation, and cross-functional collaboration, the benefits extend far beyond qualification alone.
RISQS strengthens internal discipline, improves customer confidence, and removes barriers to engagement with rail clients. Most importantly, it supports long-term, sustainable participation in a sector where trust, reliability, and compliance are non-negotiable.
Supporting sustainable growth in rail
Goodflex Rubber becoming RISQS registered underpins sustainable growth, by proving that Goodflex and Harltex have the governance, financial stability, and operational control required to support rail customers over the long term.
As rail projects continue to demand higher standards from their supply chains, our RISQS registration reinforces our position as a capable, compliant, and dependable manufacturing partner within the UK rail industry.
