This is a great opportunity to train as a Despatch Operative with one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of custom-made hoses based in Alcester, Warwickshire.

Supplying industries such as Automotive, Bus & Truck, Off-Highway and Rail, you will join a friendly team with great working hours, overtime, structured training and regular social events.

TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE NEW GOODFLEX MANUFACTURING FACILITY

JOB PURPOSE

The despatch operative should be working to pull products through the production facility to ensure that the correct parts are being despatched within the lead time agreed with the customer.

To work alongside the other members of the despatch team to achieve all the shared goals and cover for each other during holiday periods.

To report back to the Despatch Team Leader when goods have not been able to be dispatched as planned.

Despatch Operative is a dynamic role so you will actively be on your feet for most of the working day and within a manufacturing centre environment.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNT-ABILITIES

  • To reunite barcodes back with post cured parts from the day before to ensure product traceability.
  • Mark up hoses using technical drawings and jigs for trimming.
  • Cut to length any products that require, as per the manufacturing specification.
  • Assemble kits as per specification.
  • Liaise with the Resources Co-Ordinator to get all specialist, international or customer account couriers arranged and booked the day before despatch.
  • Report to the Resources Co-Ordinator every morning to advise what goods will be shipped out that day and will therefore require delivery notes
  • To book all UK shipments on the Fedex & UK Mail system using the most cost-effective method for the goods.
  • To liaise with the Operations Manager if any parts are delayed coming through the production process.
  • To pick and pack all products due for despatch the following day.
  • To ensure correct parts and parts quantities are sent in every order. Which matches what is listed in the accompanying paperwork.
  • To ensure all shipments are sent with the correct paperwork and packaging to ensure it is received by the customer in an acceptable state which represent Goodflex positively.
  • To check the quality of the parts through each stage of the process to ensure no parts are sent to customers which do not meet the manufacturing specification.

To work alongside Goods Inwards to assist where necessary and cover each other during holiday periods.

THE PERSON

Must be conscientious, thorough, and reliable. Needs to be computer literate and communicate well between team members. Must be able to work as a team towards a common goal and be willing to switch roles within the department to ensure the necessary tasks are completed when required.

Should have great attention to detail to ensure only quality parts, which pass the manufacturing specification are received by Goodflex Customers, in a manner which represents Goodflex in a positive manner.

First wage increase after passing or probationary period (production staff)
£20 Contribution towards Safety boots for each employee (production staff)

  • 29 days holiday per year (Including Bank holidays based on a 5 day working week)

WORKING HOURS:

39 hour, 5-day pattern.

HOURLY RATE

Starting wage of £11.00 per hour which includes a £1.00 uplift for punctuality and attendance. This increases to £11.50 per hour on passing of their probation period which is usually around 3 months depending on the candidate and rises up to £14.50 for senior production operatives.
