Alok Sharma, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy wrote to all of us working in manufacturing that we are "contributing to the resilience" of our nation.
He outlined that "manufacturing is a critical part" of the UK economy and we need to do everything we can to keep "supply chains moving" and to "protect the economy" as much as possible.
Every business has a role to play.
Here at Goodflex Rubber Company we are doing everything we can to support businesses.
We're maintaining our production and supply of rubber hoses, mouldings and assemblies.
We're making critical raw materials available to hose suppliers and manufacturers unable to secure supply from their usual sources.
We're liaising with purchasing teams within manufacturing to localise their supply chain, improving resilience and reduce risk.
And we're working with manufacturing engineering teams to makes sure that this period of 'lockdown' can be used as strategically as possible.
We're seeing a lot of teams looking to 'close the gap' on competitors or 'extend' their dominant position. It's not a time to be watching and waiting.
And remember, there is no restriction on manufacturing continuing.
